Mr. Stensrud, Achaean’s founder, contributes over 30 years of insurance industry experience, with leadership roles in new product development and management of large-scale distribution organizations. Prior to launching Achaean, Lorry was CEO of Lincoln Retirement, a division of Lincoln National Insurance. Notably, he reversed a $2 billion negative cash flow problem, stemmed erosion in market share and repositioned the company as a market leader in the variable annuity market. From 1996 to 2000, he served as President and CEO of Cova Financial Services Life Insurance, where he transformed a fixed products company into a variable products company and developed non-traditional distribution channels in an agent-driven entity. From 1985 to 1996, he served as Executive Vice President of Xerox Life/Van Kampen Merritt where he built an annuity line of business to complement Van Kampen Merritt’s fixed income expertise.

Mr. Ryan was most recently Founder and CEO of Praetorian Advisors, a boutique investment banking and advisory firm that catered to mid-market and early stage companies, specializing in financial services. Predominate in the engagements was a focus on creative reinsurance solutions, development of Insurance-Linked Securities products and conduits. Prior to that, Ryan held a variety of leadership positions at bulge-bracket investment banks (Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and UBS) specializing in derivatives, structured finance and capital markets advisory work. In each global management position of responsibility, which included postings in Europe, he was assigned to form and launch the organizations for which he was put in charge, creating the Sales, Trading, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Administrative, Credit and Finance teams.

Chief Financial Officer & Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Morris will concurrently serve as Achaean’s chief financial officer (CFO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He was most recently the CTO, and a co-founder, of a Specialty Pharmacy business started in 2003 that grew to over $250 million in revenue for FY2006 and was subsequently acquired by Walgreen’s. From May 2001 to September 2003, he was CEO of an information technology consulting company focusing on distribution and retail clients in the Chicago metropolitan area. During the period from May, 1991 to May, 2001, he was a partner with an internet marketing consultancy where he led the acquisition of 10 technology consulting practices. Prior to this, he was a Partner with Ernst & Young. While at E&Y, he led the AS-400 technology consulting practice for one of the largest regional offices.

Michael Henkel

Head of Achaean Solutions

Mr. Henkel joined Achaean Financial from Envestnet where he was both co-head of the firm’s Portfolio Management Consultants group (PMC) and head of the Retirement Services Group. Prior to his time at Envestnet, Mike worked with Roger Ibbotson, founding partner of Zebra Capital Management, on the development of a variety of index-related investment products. He is also the former president of Ibbotson Associates until the company was sold to Morningstar in 2006. Before joining Ibbotson, Henkel worked in a variety of companies integrating technology, data, and investments. These companies included Knight Ridder, Lotus Development Corp, NewsEdge Corp, and Data Resources. Mike’s opinions have been widely quoted in a variety of publications including Pensions & Investments, Plan Sponsor, Global Finance, Journal of Financial Planning, The Wall Street Journal, Worth and Financial Planning. He was also selected as a delegate to the National Summit on Retirement Savings in 2002.
